RARE Original Vintage Joe Talirunili Stonecut print. Signed and titled in syllabics in pencil on paper below print. Also the artist has carved his name, JOE, in the stone itself so that it is a part of the print. Title translation: CLAWING ITS PREY. Dated 1965. Numbered 11/30. This is one of Joe’s early stonecuts in a small edition of only 30 signed and numbered copies. It showcases his signature style and one of his classic owls, which are heavily featured in his sculptures and his stonecut carvings throughout his career. Some very mild age discoloration overall, however this print was formerly framed using masking tape along the outside edges, which remains stuck to the paper. However, it can easily be hidden by cutting a mat to fit the image and cover the previously taped edges. It is a generally fine vintage original work in excellent condition for its age and rarity.
