Inuit Artists A Showcase and Celebration of Inuit Artists and their Art

Title: Ningiukulu Original Drawing – (Take Good Care…)

Artist:

Artist: Ningiukulu Teevee

Size: 19.5 x 25.5 inches (measures paper)

Type: Original Graphite, coloured pencil, and ink drawing on black paper

Beautifully composed and colorful original one-of-a-kind color pencil, ink and graphite drawing on black paper. Depicts two sednas, a female and male, in action below the waves, among the seaweed. The female appears to have her hand on a drain at the bottom of the sea, or perhaps they are in a tank of some sort. I personally do not really understand the meaning behind this, but those familiar with Inuit legends may know exactly what the artist’s intention is here. The male is shown combing the female’s long black hair. Below the artist has written the title in syllabics, and also translated it to English, which reads: “good care, so person could take good care”. Signed and dated 2011.(Note that this work of art is on a special limited time consignment from the artist’s co-op in Cape Dorset. Price includes shipping/handling within the North American Continent. For other locations or questions please email us via the contact form. Thank you.)
