Johnny Pootoogook is the son of famous Inuit Artist, Kananginak Pootoogook, and was born in 1970 in a traditional Inuit camp called Ikerasak, near Cape Dorset, Nunavut. He has followed in his father’s footsteps and become an accomplished artist in his own right. He is a talented graphic artist, sculptor and printmaker, and currently lives in Kinngait pursuing his artistic career. Johnny Pootoogook has had several exhibitions throughout his career, notably a show in 2016 at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, and most recently a one-man show of his original drawings at Feheley Fine Arts in Toronto, Ontario.
